Defining Master Agent Connections

Applies to: UpdateEXPERT 6.3 Only

Master-Agent management has been improved with this dialogue box. You can more easily maintain a Master-Agent list with your own descriptions, do simple modifications, connect to the Master-Agent of your choosing, and run the Agent Installer directly from the connection screen instead of backing out to "FILE > Agent > Install Wizard..." So, do File > Agent > Connect/Configure

Looking below at the example, xyzzy-x is being added. The sequence is simple. Click Add to specify a host/port for an already installed Master-Agent. Click Update to add xyzzy-x to the list (see next screen shot).

You can connect to it now (using the connect checkbox shown above and clicking Done) or later (drop-down menu on the main screen).

You can "Modify" the selected (highlighted) Master-Agent, to change the port number assignment or description, for example. No change is made till you click "Update" AND then "Done". If you "Cancel", changes are not saved.

You can "Delete" the selected Master-Agent in your list. This changes your list, it does not un-install the Master -Agent.

If you select an existing Master-Agent, you can use "Update" button to change the description, perhaps so the Master-Agent pick-list will be easier to read.

You can run the Agent Installer by clicking the "Install" button. This is the same as doing the traditional "FILE > Agent > Install Wizard..." menu selection.
