What's New in UpdateEXPERT Premium 7.02?

Note: All features listed below apply to UpdateEXPERT Premium v7.0, v7.01 and v7.02.

Thank you for your continued interest in UpdateEXPERT!  UpdateEXPERT Premium v7.02 is available for download to all v5.x, v6.x, v7.0, and v7.01 customers. In the UpdateEXPERT User Web, customers will see the following message:

UpdateEXPERT Premium 7.0 is available!

A link to an "Upgrade Page" will accompany the available message. The Upgrade Page will provide access to important  backup/restore information and UpdateEXPERT Premium file download links.

Note-1: You cannot upgrade NT4 machines from a prior version of UpdateEXPERT Master-Agent and/or Console. Please contact tech-support for a recommended installation or migration strategy.

Event Notification

Users can set up SMTP (email) notification of the start/end and completion/failure of events such as query, database updates etc. More.

Named Policies

Named sets of "Required Updates" can now be saved as policies so that groups of machines requiring different patch policies can be managed by the same console/Master-Agent. More.

Unified Master-Agents

The Console now maintains simultaneous connections to multiple master agents. More.

Customizable & Consolidated Reporting

An ability to choose fields and define order in the standard reports is provided. Consolidation of information from multiple Master-Agents is now provided automatically, based on current Master-Agent connections. More.

Roles and Rights

4 pre-defined roles exist by default.  These roles have rights, such as the right to query, manage machines, deploy patches, report, etc.  Roles and Rights can be customized. More.

Wake-on-Lan

Wake-on-LAN (WOL) support is provided to ensure a higher success rate for patch deployment operations to off-line machines.  More.

Concurrent Installation of Prerequisite and Dependent Patches

Continued improvement of the UpdateEXPERT patch database now allows reduced patch deployment effort. More.

Settings Management

File, Registry, Service, and Local Security Policy settings can now be assessed and changed from the UpdateEXPERT console in support of organizational security policy goals. More.
