Please ensure that the following are available/enabled/started for the target system:
1. Local (member of the machine admin group) or Domain Administrator rights
specify using default/alternate credentials for AGENTLESS targets
specify with current login, or answer challenge for LEAF targets
2. Remote Procedure Call services started
3. Remote Registry Access service started
4. Netlogon service started (for domain members)
5. Server service started
IPC$ and Admin$ shares enabled and accessible by admin account
6. "Full Control" permission to target machine registry (winreg key permissions)
7. File and print sharing are turned on (Network Card configuration)
8. "Classic", not "Guest" access rights for remote logins (XP, Win2003 security policy issue)
When troubleshooting, go from most-likely to least-likely:
Most-Likely by far is #1 (bad or unspecified credentials)
If XP, or Win2003, check #8 right away
Then #5, #4, #3, and #2 (sometimes people stop services for security reasons)
Lastly, #6 and #7 are least likely, but still possible
