'The dynamic link library SXLRT306.DLL could not be found in the specified path'

Issue: When upgrading from 6.1 (build 6121) to 6.3 (build 6361) the following message pops up when launching the console.

There are two solutions to this issue detailed below, with the 1st being to install 6.2 then re-install 6.3, and the 2nd being a procedure where you basically remove then add the console component.

Solution-1: is to install 6.2 (build 6215) on top of the broken 6.3 installation, and then install 6.3 again. You will not lose any settings and the Leaf Agent information is migrated correctly. You can get the 6.2 self-extracting zip file (UEDL.exe) from the St. Bernard Software public FTP site. Note: Make sure you don't overwrite your 6.3 UEDL.exe file, in fact you may want to rename it.

Solution-2: This solution requires a quick explanation to avoid confusion, in that first you will "pretend" to modify the UpdateEXPERT installation, but you won't actually change anything. Then you'll remove and add the console component, as follows:

  1. Pretend: Go to Add/Remove programs, select UpdateEXPERT and click on Change. Acknowledge the UpdateEXPERT warning about the upgrade. Select Modify (default) and click next. You will see the Console, Agent installer and Master Agent service. The console may have a little 1 next to it. *** It is important to click Next, then Install, without modifying anything the first time ***

  2. Remove: Then go back to the same screen (Add/Remove Programs - Change - Modify) This time you need to remove the console (and only the console).

  3. Add: Then go back to the same screen for the third time (Add/Remove Programs - Change - Modify) and add back the console.
