How do I check & set winreg key credentials?

Administrative credentials are required for accessing the winreg key in the target machine registry.  

Solution

• Modify the winreg key credentials on the target to grant access to your current credentials

• Use "Set Credentials" to use other credentials appropriate for the target machine

Checking and Setting "winreg" Key Credentials

Launch "regedt32", it provides easy access to permissions.

Go to the winreg registry key using the following path ... do not use "find":

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurePipeServers\winreg

Bring up the permissions window (below) and check the allowed credentials
